In December my husband and I had an amazing opportunity to travel with a Global Project team from our church,
River Valley, to Swaziland Africa. There was a team of 33 of us that went to help out the missionaries at
Children's Cup put on their annual "Christmas at the CarePoints" celebration. Between the team we went with, the children we helped care for, and the missionaries that are there helping these children every day, we met and bonded with some amazing people. We even got to meet our sponsored child Zinhle which we sponsor through the organization
Mission of Mercy. It's amazing how $30 a month can help give another human being hope. I think I tear up every time we get a letter from her.
If you ever have the opportunity to take a missions trip whether through a church or another organization you should definitely do it. It will completely change your heart and the way you look at your life and the world.
****Some facts on Swaziland: it is a land locked country within South Africa, it is the last true monarchy, the country's life expectancy is age 29, and the HIV rate is reaching an astonishing 50%****

Absolutely astonishing!
Jamie, these photos are amazing! I can see why you love travel photography so much...but the emotion and connection I feel with those Swazi kiddos is a testament to your ability as a photographer of people too! I felt like i was right there with you. Wanted to just reach right through my screen and hug the heck out of every one of them. Well done. :) I know God will use this experience to mold and shape who you are and how you serve Him.
